Board Members
Chairman - Peter Mullens
Mr Mullens career in mining spans 25 years. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in geology, from Australia's Monash University. His experience includes work as a mine geologist for the Rio Tinto and Mt Isa mines at Broken Hill and Mt Isa in Australia, extensive work as an exploration geologist in Australia, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, China and Canada, and corporate roles with Laramide Resources and Aquiline Resources, both listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange in Canada.
From 1994 to 1997, Mr Mullens was District Manager Argentina, then Central America, for Mt Isa Mines. Later, he worked as an independent consultant geologist based in Lima, Peru. In 2002, Mr Mullens joined the board of Laramide Resources, as Vice-president, Exploration and Corporate Development. In that role, he identified and acquired the Westmoreland Uranium Project in Queensland, Australia and assisted with financing and corporate development.
During his time with Laramide, that company's market capitalisation rose from CA$5.0 million to approximately CA$650 million. With Aquiline Resources, Mr Mullens was instrumental in identifying and acquiring the Calcatreu Gold Project, the company's main asset in Argentina. Subsequently, Aquiline's market capitalisation increased from CA$4 million to around CA$400 million.
Non-executive director - Nathan McMahon
With more than 15 years' experience in the resources sector within Australia, Mr McMahon is also Joint Managing Director of Cazaly Resources and a director of several unlisted mining and exploration companies with interests in platinum group elements, base metals, industrial minerals and diamond exploration. He specialises in native title and joint venture negotiations, as well as project acquisition due diligence.
Managing Director - Mark Major
Mr Major holds of Bachelor of Science in Geology and a Masters in Business Administration. Mark has 16 years experience in the resources sector, both within Australia and overseas (including eight years in South America, 2000-2008) and brings to the Company, operational and international mineral development experience.
Mark has held senior management positions and been extensively involved with many mine developent project studies, as well as being directly involved in several project acquisitions. Prior to joining Hodges, Mr Major was responsible for the development and coordination of the Calcatreu Project in Southern Argentina, as well as contributing to the senior management of the Navidad Project in southern Argentina (current resource of approximately 600+ million ounces of silver and 2.9 billion pounds of lead) for Toronto-listed Aquiline Resources Limited (market capitalisation CA$550 million at time of leaving).
Non-executive director - Bryan Dixon
Formerly with KPMG, Resolute Limited and the Sociati General, Mr Dixon has sound experience in both financing and administration in public and listed companies. He specialises in administration and compliance issues for emerging ASX- and AIM-listed resource entities.
